Up to 2,500 people protested in Letterkenny this afternoon against changes to pupil-teacher ratios which they say will have a devastating impact on small schools.
The protest at the Market square was addressed by the President of the INTO Noreen Flynn who said the protest was about sending a message that small schools in rural Ireland will not be sacrificed to pay for the greed of bankers and speculators.
Ms Flynn said she felt such protests could make a difference and change the Government's mind on the issue.
