20th century grenades discovered in Sligo

An army bomb disposal team was called out to Grange in Co Sligo following the discovery of two early 20th Century Mills type 36 grenades.

The grenades were found during an excavation at a private residence.

The team arrived on scene at 2.15pm and removed the grenades to a safe location.

The grenades were then destoyed in a controlled explosion.

The scene was declared safe at 3.15pm
