A 32-year-old man has been charged with the murder of Martin Purcell in Limerick last Friday.
Gerard Manning with an address at Upper Gerald Griffin Street, Limerick, appeared before the District Court this morning.
He was granted free legal aid and remanded in custody to appear again before the District Court on 11 October.
The body of Mr Purcell was found at his city centre flat at Wickham Street last Friday.
He had been stabbed a number of times.
