Gardaí in Limerick investigating the murder of 54-year-old Martin Purcell have arrested a man in his 30s.
The body of Mr Purcell was found at his city centre flat at Wickham Street last Friday.
A post mortem investigation conducted by Assistant State Pathologist, Dr Khalid Jabbar, confirmed that Mr Purcell died after he was stabbed a number of times.
The man is being held on suspicion of murder at Limerick’s Henry Street Garda station.
