Gardaí investigating the murder of the Oughterard publican and school teacher John Kenny have begun a new round of house-to-house inquiries in the village.
Members of the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation have now joined local gardaí in Co Galway in their attempts to establish how and why he was killed.
A post mortem examination carried out by State Pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy found that Mr Kenny died from injuries sustained in an assault.
Gardaí are now trying to establish if he was overpowered and tied up by a single assailant or if he was attacked by more than one person.
Supt Noel Kelly, who is leading the investigation, said they would be seeking to contact everybody who was in his pub on Saturday night and in the early hours of Sunday morning.
He also urged anyone who has any information that might help them in their enquiries to contact at Oughterard Garda Station on 091-557320.
So far there have been no arrests and gardaí say they are following a number of different lines of inquiry.
