A 59-year-old man charged with a number of serious sexual offences was due before North Down Magistrates Court today after being extradited from Sweden.
His extradition back to Northern Ireland was recently ordered by a court in Stockholm, after the man was detained under a European arrest warrant.
The PSNI has confirmed the man left for the Netherlands in August 2008 shortly before a preliminary inquiry court hearing.
His whereabouts were unknown, until he was detained by the Swedish authorities earlier this year.
