A protest in the Urgent Care Centre at Roscommon County Hospital has come to an end.

A group of 20 people, who stayed in the waiting room of the centre from 8pm last night, left the building just before 9am this morning.

The Chairperson of the Roscommon Hospital Action Group, John McDermott, said they had achieved their goal in ensuring that the doors of the centre did not close last night.

There are no plans to continue this protest at the moment.

But a march will be held on Saturday in the town of Boyle in north Co Roscommon where the Fine Gael TD Frank Feighan is a resident.
