Agricultural development authority Teagasc has developed a farm safety poster to tackle the number of deaths and serious injuries occurring on Irish farms.
11 people have died in farm accidents already this year - 26 people died in 2010.
The poster uses an A - Z format to remind farmers of key 'life-saving' safety controls.
It was launched by Taoiseach Enda Kenny at the Teagasc Mellows Campus, Athenry, Co Galway.
Mr Kenny commended Teagasc for its collaboration with the Health & Safety Authority on their national health and safety prevention initiative for the farming sector.
The prevention initiative is supported by farming organisations in association with the HSA’s Farm Safety Partnership Advisory Committee, of which Teagasc is part.
