Two men in their mid-20s have been stabbed in Limerick.

The stabbings happened in O'Malley Park in the Southill area of the city at about 2.30am.

The men were taken to the Mid Western Regional Hospital, where both are said to be in a stable condition.

A 26-year-old man suffered superficial injuries to his chest, while the 24-year-old suffered head injuries.

No arrests have yet been made in connection with the incident.
