Two men have appeared in court on charges arising from the deaths of two people whose bodies were found in Southill last week.
Patrick O'Brien, 31, of 30 Glanntán, Golflinks Road, Castletroy, Limerick and Thomas Stuart, 27, of The Cedars, Brierfield, Castletroy were both charged with the murders of Des Kelly and Breda Waters at O'Malley Park on the 9 January.
The court heard that Mr O'Brien had remained silent when the charges were read to him, while Mr Stuart had said sorry to one of the charges and made no reply to the other charge.
In court Mr Stuart denied he said sorry to the first charge. Both were granted free legal aid and remanded in custody to appear via video link at the District court on 20 January. The question of bail did not arise.
There were scuffles outside the court as the two accused were being led into the courthouse.
