The Health Service Executive has said that the remaining five residents at Loughloe House Nursing Home in Athlone were moved to St Vincent's Hospital in the Athlone town today.
The public nursing home was criticised in a report by the Health and Quality Authority last February.
The HSE has shut the facility down.
A spokesman said the heating system in the home broke down last night due to the severe weather and the residents were being moved in the interests of patient care.
