A 57-year-old Belfast man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a Catholic woman in the city 37 years ago.
Robert Rodgers, of Tierney Gardens in Belfast, is accused of killing 19-year-old Eileen Doherty, who was shot dead at Annadale Embankment in September 1973.
She was on her way home to Andersonstown in west Belfast when the taxi she was travelling in was hijacked.
Belfast Magistrates' Court today heard that palm print evidence allegedly links Mr Rodgers to the killing.
He was remanded on continuing bail to appear in court again in February.
The case of Ms Doherty's murder was reopened by the Historical Enquiries Team earlier this year.
