The body of Peter Wilson, one of Northern Ireland's so-called Disappeared, was laid to rest in his native Belfast today.
The funeral followed confirmation earlier this week that remains found beneath a beach in Antrim were those of the young man who went missing 37 years ago.
Mr Wilson went missing from his family home on the Falls Road in west Belfast in August 1973.
It is believed the 21-year-old, who had learning difficulties, was abducted, murdered and secretly buried by the IRA.
A tip-off prompted the Commission for the Location of Victims' Remains to begin a search at Waterfoot beach in the Glens of Antrim last October.
Remains were discovered there on 2 November.
Mr Wilson's identity was confirmed earlier this week following DNA examination.
His sister said the confirmation was received with 'a mixture of relief and great sadness.'
The commission has now overseen the discovery of seven bodies since it was set up in 1999 to locate those murdered and buried in secret graves by republican paramilitaries during the Troubles.
