Gardaí investigating the fatal stabbing of a man in Dublin are attempting to identify all those who were with him in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Bartlomiej Urbaniak, who was originally from Poland, died in hospital yesterday afternoon from stab wounds.
The 29-year-old was one of around a dozen people at a birthday party in a private room at the Wright Venue, a nightclub in the Airside Retail Park in Swords.
He left with some friends and went to a second party at an apartment in Richmond Road.
Just before 4am, two men brought Mr Urbaniak to the Rotunda Hospital, not realising it was a maternity hospital.
The victim was then transferred to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, but he died there at around 4pm yesterday.
Detectives have appealed to anyone who was with the victim in the Wright Venue on Saturday night, or around the Rotunda in the early hours of Sunday morning, particularly Polish people, to contact them at Swords Garda Station on 01-6664700.
They have appealed to the taxi drivers who brought the group of Polish people from the Wright Venue to Richmond Road to contact them.
Gardaí have seized a car and sealed off two apartments for forensic examination.
Mr Urbaniak's family are on their way from Poland to Dublin.
