A defamation case against TV3 by Wayne O’Donoghue, who was convicted of the manslaughter of 11-year-old Robert Holohan, has been settled.

In a statement read to the court this morning, lawyers for the station said TV3 acknowledged ‘there was no evidence that semen found on Robert Holohan's body was that of Wayne O'Donoghue.’

The court was asked to strike out the action.

The defamation action was taken after a broadcast by TV3 following Wayne O’Donoghue's sentence hearing in January 2006.
