The High Court in Belfast has heard that 15 people were injured during an alleged hit-and-run collision at a bonfire in the Village area of the city on the night of 11 July.

The number was disclosed as a man accused over the incident was denied bail by the court to attend the birth of his child.

A judge was told that the 29-year-old accelerated his car after it was surrounded by a group of men shouting sectarian abuse.
