Three men have died in a road crash on the N21 in Co Limerick.

They were travelling in a van that was in collision with a car shortly after 9pm at Garryduff on the Newcastle West to Tralee road.

Two other people in the van survived the crash and four people in the car received minor injuries.

The three men who died have been named as Richard Furey, 37, Tom Murphy, 32, and Thomas Holmes, 32. They were all from Newcastlewest in Co Limerick.

The road has now re-opened following a technical examination.
