A 25-year-old man arrested in connection with a stabbing in Cork city last night has been released without charge.
A file is being sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The man who was stabbed is in a critical but stable condition in hospital after the attack at an apartment on the northside of the city.
The 24-year-old man received wounds to his head, back, chest and legs during the attack, which occurred at Heritage House on Cathedral Road at 9.20pm last night.
He was rushed to Cork University Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery.
Gardaí are appealing for people who were on Cathedral Road last night between 9pm and 9.20pm to contact them.
