A woman has died following a road crash in Co Kilkenny.
The collision between the car and a truck happened at around 5.20pm on the N9 close at Paulstown.
The driver of the car died was in her early 20's and a male passenger in the car received minor injuries and was taken to St Luke's General Hospital Kilkenny.
The driver of the truck is not injured.
Earlier, a man died and a woman has been injured in a road crash near Claremorris in Co Mayo.
Peter Meenan, 61, from Ballyhaunis in Co Mayo died when the car he was driving was involved in a collision with a van at Coilmore on the main Claremorris to Ballyhaunis road.
He was pronounced dead at the scene; the woman has been taken to Mayo General Hospital.
The crash occurred shortly before 3pm.
Gardaí in Claremorris are appealing for witnesses to the crash to contact them.
