A 53-year-old man has appeared at Derry Magistrates' Court charged with a number of offences, including possession of firearms and ammunition.
The court was told that Thomas Christopher Nash, from Iveagh Park, Prehen, was detained following searches by police officers investigating the car bomb placed at Strand Road, Derry city centre, two weeks ago.
Mr Nash, who denied all the charges, was remanded in custody to appear again next month.
A solicitor for the accused pointed out that his client faced absolutely no charges in relation to the bombing.
He also said that forensic tests carried out on items seized by the police had produced negative results in relation to his client.
