Gardaí have arrested two men following the armed robbery of a jewellers in Co Kildare.
Two men, aged 30 and 40, entered Celbridge Jewellers on Main Street, Celbridge, at around 4pm armed with a crowbar and a handgun.
The culprits left the jewellers with a sum of cash after threatening staff.
Gardaí, who were on mobile patrol of the area, observed two suspects. The gardaí arrested the suspects and recovered a firearm, balaclava and a sum of cash.
Both suspects are currently detained at Leixlip Garda Station.
There was no one injured during the incident.
