The Government is to spend around €36m to dispose 250,000 tonnes of waste, which was illegally dumped in Northern Ireland.
The first consignment of waste from an illegal dump at Slattinagh, Co Fermanagh, will be removed tomorrow.
The site is one of 20 across Northern Ireland in which illegal waste from the Republic was dumped between 2002 and 2004.
Under a deal agreed by environment ministers in both jurisdictions, the Government will pay for all the costs related to disposing the household and commercial waste.
The Government will also pay most of the cost of moving it from the illegal dumps to approved landfill facilities.
