Anthony McDonagh, a 45-year-old father-of-five, is fighting for his life in Beaumont Hospital after he was shot five times.

Mr McDonagh's 26-year-old nephew, Kieran McDonagh, was also shot in the shoulder as he tried to escape.

He has since been discharged from hospital.

Gardaí believe the attack was an attempted double murder.

Detectives have said the road was blocked by a car and a lone gunman walked past a line of cars after the attack.

They say they still need all those who were at the scene that day to contact them.
