A 34-year-old woman whose three-year-old daughter died after she beat her for wetting the bed has been jailed for four years at the Circuit Criminal Court in Tralee, Co Kerry.
The court was told that 34-year-old Monika Paczkowska of Killeen Woods, Tralee, had 'flipped' on the night in question and had not wanted to kill her child.
Judge Carroll Moran said the severity of the attack could not be understated and it resulted in the completely unnecessary loss of the child's life.
