A jury has been sworn in at the Central Criminal Court for the trial of a 50-year old man accused of the murder of Anne Corcoran in Cork last year.
Oliver Hayes of Clancool Terrace, Bandon, has denied murdering the 60-year-old widow but admits manslaughter between 19 and 21 January 2009.
He has pleaded guilty to false imprisonment and admits the theft of €3,000 on a number of dates in January 2009.
Ms Corcoran’s body was found on 6 February 2009 in a wooded area near Garrettstown beach after a massive search operation.
The trial will begin on Thursday.
