A 43-year-old man has been jailed for life in the UK for the fatal stabbing of an Irishman, who had offered him a spare bed for the night.
57-year-old Patrick McDonnell was found dead at his home in Kingsland Road, in Luton, on the 6 August last year.
He had moved to England in the 1990s.
Clifford Nicholson, of no fixed abode, admitted murdering Mr McDonnell.
Bedfordshire Police said the accused had a long history of drug abuse and mental disorder, but had been assessed as being responsible for his actions.
