Commuters in Dublin are facing a new 30km/h speed limit in the city centre today.
The limit - introduced yesterday - applies within an area from Bolton Street on the northside to Kevin Street on the southside.
It also stretches from Church Street and Bridge Street in the west, to Gardiner Street and Dawson Street in the east.
Dublin City Council says the decision was taken because dangerous and inappropriate speed is contributing to road deaths.
However, the AA has said the move is absurd, and traders have expressed concern about the impact on business.
