A man was shot and injured in a gun attack at a city centre shop in Derry yesterday evening.
Raymond Coyle, 52, was shot in the lower body by a gunman wearing a motorcycle helmet.
The attack took place in a shop in Waterloo Road.
Although the man was initially reported to be in a serious condition, police later said his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Foyle MP and SDLP leader Mark Durkan condemned the shooting as barbaric.
The man's family say they believe he was targeted because he owns a shop that sells so-called 'legal highs'.
Mr Coyle's family deny that he was warned about selling substances that have a similar effect as illegal drugs, but are not banned under legislation.
Dissident groups have warned people against selling these products in recent months.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the shooting to come forward.
