The PSNI are investigating the theft of an ATM from the outside wall of a bank in Crossmaglen, Co Armagh, this morning.

A mechanical digger was used in the theft.

The digger was driven to the square area of Crossmaglen using a tractor and trailer just before 6am.

The PSNI says the thieves made off in a flatbed type van and a small, dark coloured car.

Detectives in Newry believe the tractor and digger used to steal the machine may have been stolen from the Ardee area of Co Louth on Thursday night or Friday morning.
