Updated list of school closures/reopening times

The majority of schools in the greater Dublin area reopened this morning.

Many schools in Munster will stay closed until tomorrow at the earliest, where treacherous roads and footpaths are a big concern.

There are also difficulties in parts of the midlands and the northwest.

The Irish National Teachers' Organisation has urged parents to exercise caution on the way to school as some roads and footpaths remain frozen.

It said parents should not worry if a careful journey means children arrive later than usual.

Second-level schools in some areas are concerned about the condition of schoolyards. There is still a layer of ice under the slush in some cases.
