Security alert near Newry

There were long delays on A1 Newry road as British army technical officers dealt with a security alert today.
A stretch of the A1 Newry road between Jonesborough and the Cloghogue roundabout was closed off.
The alarm was raised after a suspicious vehicle was left parked under a bridge close to the border.

Traffic was diverted off the A1 at Jonesborough and onto the old Dublin/Newry road during the alert.
