A man arrested in relation to a shooting incident in Co Wexford early yesterday morning has been released from custody.

A man in his 40s was shot after what is believed to have been a domestic dispute at a house near Kilmuckridge at around 3am.

When gardaí arrived at the scene they found a man lying on the road with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his leg.

He was taken to Wexford General Hospital where his condition is described as comfortable.

Later that morning, a 23-year-old man was arrested and brought to Enniscorthy Garda Station for questioning.

He was released this morning and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
