Dedicated stroke service could save 500 lives

Up to 500 lives could be saved each year if more dedicated services were provided to deal with strokes, the Irish Heart Foundation says.

More than 2,000 people die from stroke every year in Ireland.

The organisation says an estimated 30,000 people are living with disability from stroke, who could benefit from improvements in services.

The foundation launched its stroke manifesto today.
