Three charged following Wexford death

Three men have been charged in connection with the death of a man who died following an assault in Co Wexford at the weekend.

James Doyle, a 40-year-old father-of-three, was attacked in Gorey in the early hours of Saturday morning.

He received serious head injuries and was transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin where he died this afternoon.

The three men have now been charged in relation to a number of incidents in the town on Saturday morning.

They were brought to Wexford District Court this evening and have been charged with intentionally or recklessly causing serious harm to Mr Doyle.

All three also face another charge in relation to an assault on Neil Doyle, 26, on the same night in the town.

The three who were before the court this evening were 18-year-old Mantis Kriksciunas, Roman Muhins, 19, and Artus Janovskis, 23.

Two of the men are from Latvia and one is from Lithuania. All three have been living in Gorey for some time.

Bail applications were made for the three men but were refused by Judge Donnchadh O'Buachalla.

They were remanded in custody to appear at Cloverhill District Court in Dublin next Friday.
