Six One News: Áine Lally reports that gardaí say robbery is likely the motive for the murder of 78-year-old Finbar Fahy in Co Galway
The body of the 78-year-old was found at his home near Ardrahan on Wednesday morning. The retired farmer had lived alone at Tullira.
Gardaí say he had sustained injuries to his head, hands and arms.
The results of a post mortem examination carried out at Galway University Hospital showed that Mr Fahy died from blunt force trauma to the head.
