Gardaí were investigating another incident and the patrol car was parked when the crash happened.

The scene was sealed-off for a technical examination.

The right lane inbound on the Red Cow Roundabout was closed and traffic diversions were in place for a time but they have since been lifted.

Gardaí at Clondalkin are investigating the incident and are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.
