A 22-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital following a serious assault in Thurles, Co Tipperary.
The man was assaulted outside a pub on Mitchell Street at around 1.30am this morning.
He was taken to South Tipperary General Hospital where he is in a critical condition.
The scene of the attack has been preserved for a technical examination.
