Two die in Donegal & Galway crashes

Two men have been killed in separate road crashes in counties Galway and Donegal.

A 45-year-old man died in a crash outside Milltown, Co Galway, this morning.

The collision between a car and an oil tanker happened shortly after 7.40am on the main N17 road between Milltown and Ballindine, Co Mayo.

The deceased man was removed to Galway University Hospital.

The truck driver was believed to be suffering from shock, but was uninjured.

A section of the N17 was closed and diversions were in place.

Gardaí were advising motorists to avoid the area for several hours.

Elsewhere, a man in his early 20s died in a road crash in Co Donegal.

He was the driver of one of two cars which collided on the N15 Lifford to Castlefin Road at around 12.30am.

The man was taken to Letterkenny Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Two other people were taken to hospital with injuries.

The road was closed this morning for technical examination.
