Shannonbridge protest over bog destruction

listen

Over 100 climate change and environmental activists have set up a camp in a field adjacent to the ESB power plant near Shannonbridge, Co Offaly.

The activists - from Ireland and abroad - said they would be observing the destruction of peat bogland by Bord Na Móna.

They say they are trying to highlight what they claim are unsustainable practices by the ESB.
