A man has been released following questioning about an attack on a 63-year-old man at his home in Charlestown, Co Mayo.
Gardaí say a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The attack took place on Sunday night during a robbery at the man's home.
He was admitted to hospital where he underwent surgery and is said to be in a stable condition.
