Man pleads not guilty to Fahy murder

A man has gone on trial charged with the murder of a 20-year-old man who was fatally stabbed in Glenamaddy last December.

A man has gone on trial in Galway charged with the murder of a 20-year-old man who was fatally stabbed in the village of Glenamaddy last December.

Patrick Doherty, 45, from Clooncon West in Glenamaddy, pleaded not guilty to the murder of Francis Fahy of O'Keeffe Park, also in Glenamaddy.

The Director of Public Prosecutions refused to accept a plea of guilty to manslaughter.
