Michael Lynn - No repayments on property in Youghal since 2007

The High Court has granted an order for the possession of a property owned by solicitor Michael Lynn.

Bank of Scotland (Ireland) had sought possession of the holiday home in Red Barn, Youghal in Co Cork.

The court heard that no repayments had been made on the property since July 2007 and that the total loan amount outstanding stood at over €827,261.

The court was told that the bank had tried to issue a special summons to Mr Lynn at an address in Sandymount, Dublin, and by placing advertisements in newspaper publications in Ireland, England and the Algarve in Portugal.

Mr Justice Murphy granted a possession order to Bank of Scotland (Ireland) with a stay of one month.

Mr Lynn, who has estimated liabilities of more than €80m to various financial institutions and others, did not attend the court for today's ruling.
