An 18-year-old man was arrested after bomb disposal experts were called to a house in north Dublin last night.

The Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal team found no viable device at the scene in Buttercup Road in Darndale.

However, some component parts of a potential device were discovered.

Gardaí arrested a man and recovered a small quantity of drugs.

In a separate incident, a device was thrown at a house in Edenmore Park in Raheny.

It exploded and damaged the front room window.

A number of people were in the house at the time but were uninjured.
