A viable device found in Clondalkin in Dublin has been made safe by the Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal team.

The device had been placed under a vehicle in Deansrath Grove last night.

The bomb disposal team arrived on the scene at 12.50am this morning.

The team made the device safe at the scene without the need for a controlled explosion.

The device did contain explosive content.

The scene was declared safe at 2.30am and the device was removed for further examination.
