Two men and a woman have been killed in a road crash in Cookstown in Co Tyrone.

The victims have been named as 78-year-old Peter Toner and his 67-year-old wife, Kathleen, from Pomeroy and 19-year-old David Marshall from Omagh.

The crash happened shortly before 1am this morning at Drum Road.

Four others were taken to hospital after the collision involving two vehicles.

A man and a woman who were injured in the accident are in a serious but stable condition.

Two younger people are in a stable condition.

The damaged vehicles have been removed and the road is now reopened to traffic.
