A man has died after a Bus Éireann coach crashed into his 4x4 vehicle in Co Meath.
The crash happened on the old N4 on the Dublin side of Enfield at around 6.45am.
The coach was out of service at the time and had no passengers on board, but was due to start an Enfield to Dublin service.
The driver of the coach drove across the wrong side of the N4, struck a roundabout and collided with the Toyota Land Cruiser before ending up in a field.
The 37-year-old driver of the 4x4 who died has been named locally as Cathal O'Leary of 6 Glenowen Park in Enfield.
A spokesperson for Bus Éireann has said an investigation into this morning's accident has begun, and that Bus Éireann will assist gardaí in their inquiries.
The bus underwent a routine assessment on 10 February.
The man's body was taken to Naas General Hospital where a post mortem examination will be carried out.
His partner, who was the passenger in the vehicle, escaped injury but is said to be extremely traumatised.
The driver of the bus, who is in his 30s, received minor injuries and was taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown.
The road has reopened following an examination by garda forensic collision investigators.
