A 32-year-old English woman who helped her partner dispose of a man's clothes after murdering him has been sentenced to five years in jail.
Victoria Moverly of no fixed abode was also convicted by a jury last November of assaulting Renars Tuleiko at a field in Thurles, Co Tipperary.
The new age traveller's partner Kevin Keohane is serving a life sentence for murder.
The court heard the Latvian man had befriended the couple but a row broke out and he was stabbed to death in April 2007.
Ms Moverly, a mother of three, had an appalling childhood, the court was told. She was taken from her home and school at the age of nine when her mother joined a group of new age travellers.
She was introduced to drugs at the age of nine and by the age of 14 had her first child to a man 10 years her senior.
Mr Justice Barry White said the court could not ignore or fail to have sympathy for the appalling upbringing she had. However, he said the court could not tolerate actions to assist or evade justice.
He said she appeared to have acted out of a misguided sense of loyalty to her partner.
He sentenced her to five years on the charge of assisting to dispose of the victim's belongings and a concurrent 18 months for assault causing harm.
