Detectives investigating the murder of an 81-year-old woman at her home in Newry on Christmas Day have been granted a further 36 hours to interview two people.
Both were arrested at lunchtime yesterday.
Maire Rankin died after she was attacked at her home where she lived alone on the Dublin Road.
Police say the two detained in the Newry area, a 39 year-old man and a 42 year old woman, were known to Mrs Rankin but are not related to her.
