Three people have been killed in separate road crashes.
A 28-year-old man died in a two car collision on the main Mallow to Killarney road in Co Cork this afternoon.
The man was the driver of one of the cars.
A man and woman travelling in the second car were both injured.
The male driver was taken to Cork University Hospital with serious injuries. The woman's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Earlier, an 18-year-old woman died in a two car collision at Dowagh Cross, Claremorris, Co Mayo at 1.20am.
She has been named as Ciara Allen of The Neale Road in Ballinrobe.
The driver and a passenger of the second car, a man and a woman in their 20s, were taken by ambulance to Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar.
And a 23-year-old man died when the car he was driving left the road and struck an entrance pier near the junction of the N8 and the Ballyragget road near Durrow, Co Laois at 2.20am.
He was the only occupant of the car and there were no other vehicles involved in the crash.
