Customs officers in Northern Ireland have visited four petrol stations as part of an investigation into suspected excise and VAT evasion.

At least 50 customs officers along with significant PSNI support were deployed to the stations in Belfast and one in Lurgan, Co Armagh,

Around 100,000 litres of fuel were impounded and a quantity of cash and documents lifted.

Initial tests suggest at least 6,500 litres of the fuel was laundered.
